SINGLE MOTHER OF 5 LIVING IN A SHELTER

I lost everything in May 2022 due to a flood in my apartment. I haven’t been able to pick myself back up since.

Being a dv survivor and having everything you worked so hard for to be gone in the blink of an eye over a flood and black mold was something no dv survivor single mother should have to experience. Timing was horrible in the time of the flood. I was 36 weeks pregnant and single. With getting so sick with black mold exposure, I had to be induced with having a newborn baby to going homeless right away.

With the flood doing damage, I was given an eviction notice during the time of me going to the hospital to have my baby. I was confused and didn’t know what to do. I had no choice but to go live in my car with 4kids. I been through a lot of healing since. Losing everything broke me.
