Ms. Rachelle Barrera graduated from Legacy of Educational Excellence (LEE) High School in San Antonio, Texas, in the top 3% of her class. As a student in high school, she not only made academics a priority, she also set out to help others in her community. Rachelle dedicated hundreds of hours to help with the Assistance League of San Antonio CAPS program. This program provides hand-decorated caps and knitted beanies to chronically ill individuals in our community through multiple agencies and hospitals. Rachelle has beautifully hand-decorated hundreds of caps as well as personally developing and handmaking a support "Cuddle Bug." Her "Cuddle Bug" has been given to so many children in our community to bring comfort when they faced very difficult medical treatments. Rachelle's compassion and commitment to helping others who are facing unimaginable challenges show the inspiring and caring person she truly is.

After graduating from high school, she is excited to continue her education at the University of Texas at Austin. There she plans to focus and study towards a Medical Degree. Rachelle's hard work in school has provided her with a scholarship for her tuition; however, her books, meals, and room and board are not part of the scholarship. We hope that by raising money we can help her with additional school expenses and ease the financial burden for Rachelle and her mom.

Rachelle has dedicated so much of herself to help others, it is our turn to help her. No amount is too small, and all money raised will allow Rachelle to focus on her education and future. A future where she continues her commitment to care for others by becoming a compassionate and caring doctor.
