Help Rachel to attend Oceans Edge University

Hi, my name is Rachel Spern. I’m an artist, singer/songwriter, and worship leader. For the past 4 years I’ve had the privilege of worship leading at Faith Lutheran Church in Troy, Michigan. I’ve also had the joy of attending this same church my entire life, and I love the community there and that we all share the same belief of Jesus our Savior.

The past few years I’ve gone through a lot of difficulties in my life and the things that have kept me grounded are God and my church, and being able to have the chance to lead my church in worship and, from that, writing worship music that honors Him. I struggled hard during high school, and now after 2 years of thinking I wouldn’t be able to complete it and attend a college, I finally believe I can.

So this fall, I’m going to be attending a 10 month worship program at Oceans Edge University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This program is equipped to help young, aspiring worship leaders, such as myself, to grow in songwriting, music theory, and, of course, worship leading. To have the chance to go there would be incredible!

Unfortunately, in the past couple months, I lost my job and so far have been unable to find a new one. After adding up the prices of what it will take to be able to attend OEU, I realized I wouldn’t be able to afford it without financial support. The amount I’m hoping to raise will cover the total tuition and fees, along with the price of housing.
