Help Rachel Thompson Recover from Alligator Attack
Donation protected
In the early morning hours of July 4th after a routine 2-mile jog and some mindful yoga riverside, willowy Rachel Thompson went down to the river to splash water on herself to cool off, just as she had done for many years. Standing in only knee-deep water by the bank, she looked down just as an 11-foot, 475 lb alligator opened its gaping jaws and decided to make her his next meal. Rachel managed to break free from the 2000 lb pressure wrapped around her calf and dragged herself onto the dock for safety.
With a broken fibula and a major chunk removed from her leg, Rachel has started the physical healing process that will take months before she is able to return to work. She considers herself quite lucky to have survived the horrific incident, but the emotional trauma is sometimes debilitating.
Obviously, unable to drive, Rachel is facing mounting medical bills as well as having to pay monthly living expenses.
She has applied for, but has not yet been approved or denied, financial assistance in helping with her medical bills.
The greatest portion of donations will be used toward medical bills, and treatments and physical therapies that have not yet been approved by her insurance. Due to the generosity of so many already, just a little can make a big difference here. All the prayers, cards, flowers, food, love and support are appreciated as well.
