Help Rachel rise above the ashes!

Once upon a time a family took on a crazy endeavor together building this tiny home. The tiny home concept was intriguing and was truly a labor of love for this family of four. With the home finished, it was now ready for daughter, Rachel, to make it her own for the past several years. This little home has moved with her to Oklahoma, the Missouri River and finally to Deadwood. Deadwood has been home to Rachel and her little family of cats, Wyatt and Puppy, and rescue mutt, Moose. Through life’s challenges, Deadwood has given Rachel a new beginning and a treasured sense of community.

Rachel had the day off from her position as bar manager at Stan & Ollie’s Bar in the Iron Horse Inn Hotel and was taking a friend’s daughter to the airport when she got the call that all she had was soon to be lost in a devastating fire. Rachel’s Tiny Home was gutted and her beloved, cuddle bug, Wyatt, succumbed to the toxic smoke. Puppy managed to escape through a small screen. Moose wasn’t home.

Rachel, Moose and Puppy need to find a new place to live and all it takes to make it a home. She has no furniture, no clothing, blankets, towels, kitchen equipment, etc. Nothing. We are hoping to help with deposits and basic needs. Knowing it will take much more than our goal, Rachel is hesitant to expect more. Let’s show her some community love!

With the kindest heart and doing anything for others in need, Rachel would never ask for help and expects nothing. We all know new, fresh starts include many tears, exhausting decisions, hard work and … money. A fresh start can be life-changing. Let’s help her with a positive, fresh start in this devastating loss. Rachel’s a Phoenix and will rise above these ashes of loss.
