Rachel is my oldest friend, and she’s always been a bright, joyful presence in my life. Recently, while on vacation in Mexico, Rachel had to have her appendix removed unexpectedly. Things took a turn for the worse when she experienced complications and needed another surgery after returning to Monterey.

The most heartbreaking part is that Rachel’s United Healthcare Insurance wasn’t accepted in Mexico. Her family was forced to pay a large sum upfront before she could get the surgery she needed. Rachel’s mother had to reach out to family members to gather the money, leaving them completely financially strapped. Now, after a second surgery, they’re facing even more bills and have no idea how they’ll afford the proper healthcare Rachel needs to recover.

These funds will go directly toward paying off Rachel’s hospital bills and helping her get back on her feet. Rachel is a wonderful ray of light—she lights up every room with her spirit and humor, and she’s been my friend since we were seven years old. Her family is really struggling right now, and anything helps at this point. No donation is too small.
