On the evening of Monday, September 26 Rachel and Sev’s apartment in the Mission District in San Francisco was broken into.
A man broke into our front gate, took a bar cart from our backyard, laid towels underneath the wheels to hide the sounds and burned a whole through our screen window, consequently breaking it and climbing into our kitchen.
He then stole everything we own, including our passports, laptops, iPhones, watches, fly fishing equipment, camping gear, music recording equipment, several guitars, jewelry, clothing, shoes, jackets, purses, underwear, as well as used our facilities and completely trashed the apartment. He took several sentimental items that were irreplaceable, including a journal left to Sev before his mother passed away, jewelry from Rachel’s grandmother, and a custom made acoustic guitar from Sevilla.
We have an ongoing police investigation (case #220674986) and had a detective come to sweep for fingerprints and run DNA samples, which then were proven to show that the robber was wearing gloves while he was breaking in.
We are incredibly grateful to be safe and be staying with family, and appreciate any help whatsoever from our amazing, greater community.
