I'm Rachel Rushing, an artist, educator, and Director of Taber Art Gallery at Holyoke Community College.

This summer, I've been invited to present at the Association of Academic Museums and Galleries annual conference. This year's theme is Creativity: Celebrating Innovation in Campus Museums and Galleries.

My presentation, Our Own Solo Show: Strategies For A Staff Of One, will be Thursday, June 11th, and is for the multi-hyphenate, cross-functional, all-in-one professional who is constantly thinking creatively to solve new problems, engage with stakeholders, curate new exhibitions, and advocate for their position and space.

One of the greatest challenges in working alone is connecting with other solo staffers who can empathize with our struggles and exchange practical tools and strategies that can help us all continue to bring innovative and relevant art to our campus communities!

The total cost of attending will be around $1,800 (split between conference registration, flights, a hotel stay, and meals). I've been awarded $1,000 through HCC's professional development fund, but I need your help to cover the other $800!
