Rachel is an 18 year old Maasai girl from a small Masai village in Kenya. She is currently living in CARA Girls Rescue Center with other young survivors of many situations. The young girl’s basketball skills were noticed earlier in the year. She was given a once in a lifetime opportunity to play basketball in the United Kingdom. This young girl has never left her village let alone the country. The cost of this basketball program is 2,500 USD. Rachel needs to raise this money by June 1st in order for her to attend this program. Students at The University of Alabama at Birmingham visited the Cara Girls rescue center, and this story touched our hearts. We hope to be able to raise enough money for this young girl in Africa. This opportunity will change Rachel’s life completely, and we hope to raise enough money for Rachel to attend this program.
