We’re reaching out on behalf of our incredible friend Rachel - a hairstylist, Marine Corps veteran, and one of the most caring, creative people we know.

Rachel was recently diagnosed with a rare congenital heart condition called Anomalous Coronary Artery (ACA). After months of testing, advocacy, and referrals, she now has a surgery date: August 29th. She’ll be undergoing open heart surgery to correct the issue and give her the chance to live a long, healthy life.

This is a major operation with a recovery period of at least 8–12 weeks, during which she’ll be unable to work. As a hairstylist, this means no income while still facing rent, bills, and medical-related expenses.

We’ve created this GoFundMe to help cover:

    •    Rent and living expenses while Rachel recovers

    •    Medical costs not covered by the VA

    •    Travel and lodging for her family to be by her side

    •    Recovery needs like meals, medications, and transportation
