Help Rachel Gonzalez w Expenses after Surgery
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Stephanie Donner and I was afforded the opportunity to meet Rachel Gonzalez because our children go to the same elementary school together. My son and her daughter have developed a one-of-a-kind friendship as “besties”. Rachel recently underwent a serious surgery on 1-3-22 due to a severe organ prolapse that resulted from pregnancies and a hysterectomy. She will be out of work for a minimum of nine weeks while recovering. Rachel is a single mom, and she is the sole source of income for her household. With her savings depleted from her medical leave from her hysterectomy from July 2021, she needs help to pay her rent, bills, and groceries. Rachel did not initiate asking for help, but she admitted that she has no income coming in until she returns to work. Rachel is one of those individuals whose smile enters the room before she does; you meet her and you just know she is genuine and authentic. At this point in her recovery, she is on complete bed rest. Her children (ages 5 and 9) are so patient, flexible and understanding, but this has to be difficult for them to process as well. She teaches her children to be confident, kind, and independent and this shines through in how they interact with others at school and in the community. Please keep Rachel in your prayers as she recovers. She is eager to return to her position at Country Meadows in the food service industry. Most of all she looks forward to returning to being able to enjoy activities with her two favorite tiny humans (her kids). Thank you for your consideration as this is Rachel’s second major surgery in a 6-month time period that required her to take a medical leave from work. With your support, she will be able to focus on resting and recovering so that she can get back to living her best life again soon.
Update 1-14-21 - The collection started one week ago. Rachel is overwhelmed by and so grateful for the support and donations she has received from friends new and old as well as complete strangers. Her recovery has been a bumpy and painful one thus far. On a positive note, she been released to drive for 10 minute trips, but she continues to need to spend most of her day on bedrest. Word has circulated that a few children in our community heard about the collection and wanted to donate; we know Nazareth is one phenomenal place when even our children have such big hearts. Gift cards are being accepted at the local elementary schools for Giant to help with groceries. Many thanks to everyone who has helped by donating and sharing the post.
