I’m Rachel, and I’m creating this fundraiser for myself. Three days ago, my car engine exploded while I was on the freeway, and I am now in urgent need of a down payment for a new car. I’m a single mother raising my 1-month-old and 2 dogs, and this has been incredibly overwhelming. I have been out of work for 1 month and will not return for another month and a half, so this unexpected loss has hit at one of the hardest possible times.

On top of that, I’ve recently had to cover so many other necessary expenses just to keep our home and life together, including AC repairs, sink repairs, and new stairs to make things safer for my baby. A reliable car would help me get to and from work when I return, make it possible to get to doctor’s appointments, and give my baby, my dogs, and me something much safer than the vehicle I had before.

I truly hate having to ask for help, but keeping up with my mortgage and everything else in life is adding up fast. Anything helps, and I would be eternally grateful for any support, whether that means donating or simply sharing this fundraiser. I try not to ask others for much, but a dear friend reminded me that this is exactly the kind of moment this platform was made for.
