Hi everyone,

My name is Rachel, Im a 14-year-old 8th grader, and I have the incredible opportunity to travel to Asia with my school this year. This trip will allow me to expand my education, experience new cultures, and learn in a way that a classroom simply can’t provide. Unfortunately, my family is facing financial challenges, and without support, I won’t be able to go.

I have been attending a Chinese immersion school since I was young, and learning about Chinese language and culture has been a huge part of my life. I’ve been speaking and practicing Cantonese for 8 years and Mandarin for 5, starting all the way back in preschool. Traveling to China would allow me to fully immerse myself in the language I’ve dedicated years to learning, helping me improve my fluency and deepen my connection to the culture. My school will be visiting breathtaking destinations like Hong Kong, Taiwan, and many more, where I’ll get to taste the local foods, view historic landmarks, and experience daily life with my pen pals in Asia!

I’ve always been a dedicated student, pushing through challenges to chase my dreams. This experience would help me grow academically and personally, but right now, it feels just out of reach. Any donation, no matter how small, would bring me one step closer to making this dream a reality.
