Help Rachael Adams Fight Stage 4 Breast Cancer
Hi, I’m Rachael Adams—artist, small-business owner of Caspar Curiosities, and (most importantly) a friend who now faces a devastating diagnosis of stage 4 breast cancer. I’m starting this fundraiser to ask for help covering the overwhelming costs that come with lifelong cancer treatment: out-of-pocket medical bills, time away from work, travel to appointments, and basic living expenses while I fight for more time.
My Diagnosis
In June 2025, I discovered a lump that led to imaging and a biopsy. On September 4th, I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. After a PET scan on September 17th, my care team confirmed the cancer had spread further than anyone hoped. On September 22nd, I was told I now have stage 4 breast cancer that has spread into my spine, inside my breastbone and inside my skull.
My doctors told me that I will be in treatment for the rest of my life. They will never remove my port, and while the hope is that ongoing treatment will keep the cancer managed, my prognosis is about five years. I’m determined to use that time fully, surrounded by love, art, and community—but I cannot do it alone.
Why I’m Asking for Help
I run an online small business (Caspar Curiosities), and while I love what I do, cancer doesn’t clock in or out. Treatment days, side effects, and recovery periods reduce my ability to pack orders, photograph products, and keep the shop running at full speed. That means less income at the exact time my expenses are rising.
How Funds Will Be Used
Your support will directly help me stay in treatment and stay afloat:
* Medical costs not covered by insurance: deductibles, co-pays, ongoing imaging, infusions, prescriptions, radiation, pathology, and specialized therapies
* Treatment travel & logistics: gas, parking
* Recovery & support needs: compression garments, wigs/head coverings, nutrition support, pain management, and comfort supplies for ongoing chemo and radiation
* Lost income & essential bills: mortgage, utilities, groceries, and keeping my small business alive during slower periods of treatment
* Contingency for additional procedures, side effects, or complications that come with lifelong stage 4 care
What This Means to Me
Even though this diagnosis has changed everything, I’m choosing hope every single day. Hope for more time. Hope for laughter with loved ones. Hope to keep creating, photographing, and sharing beauty with the world for as long as I’m able.
Your help—whether it’s a donation, a share, or a kind message—lightens my load and reminds me that I am not alone in this fight.
Ways You Can Help (Beyond Donating)
* Share this GoFundMe on your social media, group chats, and email lists
* Send encouragement—words of kindness are medicine, too
* Shop small when you can: CasparCuriosities.com helps sustain me (and I’ll fulfill orders as my health allows)
Updates You Can Expect
I’ll post updates here after each major step—chemo cycles, radiation rounds, scans, and milestones—so you can see where your support is making a real difference. Transparency matters to me, and I’ll keep everyone in the loop as much as I’m able.
From the bottom of my heart: thank you for helping me fight for my health, my future, and every precious day I have left.
With gratitude,
Rachael Adams
