My name is Rachael Gathoni (35), a Public Health Officer serving WA state communities of Health in different jurisdictions.
Last year, on 9/29/23 at 9:20 pm in Williams Lake, BC, Canada, my husband's life was cut short in a grisly road accident. Hiram K. Ndegwa, who was 33 years old at the time. It took me 24 hours to piece things together, which triggered me to contact the system and call 911 to trace his whereabouts, leading to a King County Sheriff officer showing up at my door to break the devastating news to me and my two girls.
Our lives have never been okay. We struggled with planning his funeral, identification process, transportation, and burial, but God made a way, and two months later, his remains were buried in Kenya on Thanksgiving Day, 11/23/23.
It's tough for us as a family to celebrate that holiday and many other important dates that we valued as a family unit. Our girls are now 6 and 3 years old, respectively.
Financially, we have struggled so much and accumulated immense debt from friends who have come to help, over drafted bank accounts, unpaid bills, lien notices, and court cases. We are still in the process of settling his estates. (It takes long.)
I have recently resumed work but haven't been able to catch up at all with any of the multi-accumulated debt incurred for that year.
We are humbly asking for your help to make it through our Christmas with a miracle of paying at least 50% of our immediate bills. Please help us so that we can start 2025 in a better place.
God bless you.
