This animal shelter located in Saigon, Vietnam, run by Huynh Thi Nhu Quyen, the cat rescuer featured in a recent exposé on the cat meat market in Vietnam, has been ordered by the landlord to vacate the premise in less than a month. A local philanthropist has agreed to lend their property free of charge just outside the city, including a small house for the family, as their future sanctuary for the animals. However, the construction of the shelter for the 750+ cats and dogs is a huge financial challenge for Quyen’s family. They had hoped to build something nice for their fur family, but right now they would be happy just to have a safe place for them.
For this immediate phase, they need about USD 5,000 to build a large multi-section shelter including the foundation, a separate kitchen, plumbing and septic tank.
They are desperate for donations. Anything will help. Please consider making a donation.
