Help "Guy" Recover
On Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at approximately 8 or 8:30pm the Salida Police Department responded to our address stating they had allegedly received a call about a man with a gun. The "call" also reported the man was making threats against us, the residents. Upon arriving, a Salida police officer, walked up to the fence at the back of the property with his assault rifle, raised the weapon over the fence, took aim, and fired 1 shot at close proximity, and injured"Guy Guy", the kindest, most loving, and gentlest pitbull I have ever had the pleasure of living with. The bullet entered his nose and exited through his bottom jaw. He is currently receiving emergency veterinary care in Denver, Colorado and is expected to survive but he will have some medical issues due to the fact that he is now missing part of his lower jaw. "Guy Guy" has NEVER threatened a single soul and never would have done what the cop said he did. The officer has made statements saying that "Guy Guy" chased him down the alleyway. Again, this did not happen and the police officer was never in any danger from this dog.
The vet bills are still adding up and we really dont even have a real estimate as to the monetary damages but are asking for your help to pay for the cost of his care . Every dollar counts and is VERY VERY appreciated. If we collect more money than is needed, the remaining balance will be donated to the Arkansas Valley Humane Society in Buena Vista, CO
