My name is James, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my family during this most difficult time. My father, Quintin Porter, is on disability, recovering from a week-long stay at the hospital, and still coping with many chronic conditions while searching for employment.

Our family—my mother Elise, my brother Andy, my father, and I—are struggling to keep our heads above water. My mom works tirelessly, and my dad is struggling with his health and re-entering the workforce. My brother is still in school. I’m currently attending the University of Illinois, so I am unable to support my family to a greater extent. We are at financial risk and need help to pay current medical and recent hospital bills, and for life-sustaining medication that is needed daily. Dad was hospitalized for a week.
