Help Quinn Breathe
Donation protected
Quinn and I met in early high school. Being similar in our peculiarities, we quickly became and have since stayed close. It has been about 10 years since we met, and Quinn's life has taken an unfair and tragic turn. The love of Quinn's life, Nik, tragically and unexpectedly passed away in January. Nik brought Quinn a sense of understanding, belonging, and love that she had never before experienced and will miss for the rest of her life. Since losing Nik, to say Quinn has been drowning is an understatement.
Quinn moved when she was on the brink of homelessness. Although having somewhere to live is a huge weight off of her shoulders, she will continue to feel unstable and vulnerable the longer she remains in her existing financial situation. She has a new job at the plant nursery whose beautiful flowers are part of the cover collage. This job barely allows her to scrape by with the cost of her rent and utilities, and other expenses are suffocating her. She does not have familial support. She cannot afford her medical bills, to see a therapist, or even to reliably feed herself.
What Quinn desperately needs is to be able to rest, her body and mind are so sore and exhausted. She needs to be able to pause, process, grieve, and nourish herself. I love her so deeply, incredibly much, but love isn't enough. She needs your help and she needs a break. By donating to this cause which is so near to my heart and soul, you are giving one of my closest friends the chance to breathe.
Here are some photos from over the years, to hopefully get you to see what all about Quinn it is I love:
St. Patrick's Day 2023: My Athens friends wanted to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in Savannah, and without hesitation, Quinn allowed essentially total strangers to stay with her. She graciously hosted us, drove us around, showed us her favorite parts of town, and did our hair.
Here's Quinn doing hair that trip. She made Tyler's green and mine purple. We both got compliments for months and months. She was patient with our chaotic behavior and wouldn't let us pay her for her hard work.
I had never had a cat before. Quinn, the total cat whisperer, drove all the way to Athens to my nervous aid pretty much as soon as I got him. She coaxed my beloved Hazy out, loved him as her own, and taught me what cat love looks like. Before leaving, she wrote a note that I kept on my fridge for two years with some in-case-of-emergency cat tips. m,,,,,,,,,,,,,, (that was just now typed by my cat walking across the keyboard).
September 2016: I became the chauffeur to both Quinn and our other close friend as the only driver at the time. This is one of many backseat of Nora's car photos. As you can see, the lighting back there is impeccable.
I love Quinn, and I really think you would too. Please help her.
