I am incredibly proud to share the journey my son Quinn is on as he enters his senior year of high school.
This year has been filled with accomplishments that continue to affirm his dedication to the arts. We are very excited and seeking support to help us with these amazing opportunities.
This year Quinn has been accepted into the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA) high school drama program (1 of 20 students in the country) and qualified to participate in the International Thespian Festival (ITF) in Indiana (he will compete virtually).
Most recently, Quinn was named a local NAACP ACT-SO competition Gold Medalist in both the Contemporary Vocal and Dramatic Arts categories and earned a Bronze Medal in Contemporary Instrumental (Piano). Because of his success, he will advance to compete at the NAACP National ACT-SO Competition in Chicago in mid-July in the Contemporary Vocal category. We are incredibly excited for the opportunity to share his talent with audiences and competitors from across the country.
Adding to an already exciting year, prior to the ACT-SO competition, Quinn was also accepted into Grammy Camp in the musical theatre track. He received a scholarship for program participation, which is an incredible blessing, but travel and housing expenses for one week in New York remain our responsibility.
The prestigious Governor’s School is another amazing opportunity for Quinn, as he received an invitation for this summer, however, due to scheduling conflicts with the NAACP National Competition, we made the difficult decision for Quinn to decline Governor’s School so he could continue the competition journey. All of these opportunities are a testament to Quinn’s dedication and passion for the arts and academic success.
Preparing for UNCSA, participating in ITF, traveling for national competition opportunities, and attending programs like Grammy Camp have created both exciting opportunities and growing financial needs. Our family and friends encouraged me to create this GoFundMe. As a single mom of two, I am incredibly proud and deeply grateful to watch Quinn achieve goals he has worked so hard for. At the same time, navigating multiple national programs, travel opportunities, and preparing him to attend UNCSA a year earlier than expected has created financial responsibilities that can be difficult to manage alone.
Funds raised will help support travel, housing, competition participation, and other educational expenses connected to Quinn’s continued artistic and academic growth.
Every donation, share, and word of encouragement truly makes a difference. Your support means the world to our family. Without it, we might have to decline some of these incredible opportunities. Thank you for believing in Quinn, cheering him on, and helping us continue this journey.
