Most of my close friends and family have known me and my pride and joy (Quincy) for years… but for those who don’t, let me tell you a bit about our story.
I adopted Quincy when he was a few weeks old. I knew he was meant for me when I saw him in the shelter, quite literally hanging off the cage door and meowing at me. He became part of my family immediately and has been loved by so many different people that have come in and out of my life. For over 9 years, we have loved each other. He has been with me during the worst times of my life and offered so much love and safety.
For those who know Quincy, he has always been a big cat—very chunky even. The word “fat boy” has been thrown around on multiple occasions by many.
Unfortunately, that fat boy lost some weight… and the “some” weight turned into a concerning amount. With diet changes and encouraged feeding cycles, his health continued to decline.
Quincy, my sweet, gentle (but feisty), silly boy, has been diagnosed with liver cancer. The shock and devastation are still fresh, but it is absolutely necessary for me to provide him everything he needs.
With hopes and even prayers, maybe a miracle will occur and my boy will have more than a few weeks to stay on this earth. With that being said, I am asking that anyone please spare anything extra they have to ensure Quincy will be able to have the best quality of life while he’s still here.
