Help Quill Heal: A Brave Boy's Journey
Meet Quill Hebert, a bright and resilient four-year-old who has already faced more challenges than most do in a lifetime. Quill was born with an extremely rare genetic bone condition called Chondrodysplasia Punctata Type One, which profoundly affects the growth and development of his bones and spine.
At just two and a half months old, Quill underwent his first major surgery—a spinal decompression procedure. While necessary, it left a noticeable hunch in his upper back. Now, doctors have determined that another surgery is urgently needed to give him the best chance at a healthy, pain-free future.
Quill's challenging journey is set to continue with Halo Traction treatment. This delicate and intensive process involves gently straightening and stretching his spine daily, requiring a minimum hospital stay of eight weeks in Vancouver, where he'll be closely monitored by a team of specialists.
Following the traction, Quill will face another major surgery to insert two metal rods into his back. These rods are critical to stabilize his spine and prevent further deformity as he grows, and will require a significant healing period in the hospital.
How You Can Help – Every Donation Makes a Difference!
The physical, emotional, and financial toll on Quill's family is immense. His mom will be staying with him full-time in Vancouver for the next three and a half months, which means she's had to quit her job while still needing to maintain their home and keep up with bills.
Let's come together to support this courageous little boy. Every donation, share, and kind word makes a world of difference. Thank you for standing with Quill
