We are Lissette and Ezequiel Miranda, and we are reaching out on behalf of our strong and courageous daughter, Quielssy Elandrea (Ela) Miranda. Ela is only 18 years old, but she has been fighting a severe medical battle since she was just one year old. Ela was diagnosed with a rare and complex combination of conditions: annular pancreas, a choledochal cyst, and chronic pancreatitis. Over the years, these illnesses have caused her immense pain and suffering, and unfortunately, her condition has now become critical.

After years of hospital visits, treatments, and unimaginable pain, Ela’s condition has now progressed to a critical stage. Her doctors have determined that she needs a very high-risk and life-altering surgery—one that will require the complete removal of her pancreas and an extremely expensive and high-risk procedure: a pancreatic islet cell transplant. This is not a common procedure, and the risks are significant, but it is currently her only option for survival.

Because of the complexity of the surgery, it cannot be performed locally. Ela will need to travel from Florida to Minnesota to receive this specialized care. The cost of this procedure, along with the travel, accommodations, and post-surgery care, is overwhelming. The financial burden is significant, and we are asking for your support to help us cover these expenses. Any contribution, no matter how small, will directly aid in providing Ela with the surgery and care she so desperately needs.

Queridos amigos, familia y generosos apoyadores,

Somos Lissette y Ezequiel Miranda, y nos dirigimos a ustedes en nombre de nuestra valiente hija, Quielssy Elandrea (Ela) Miranda. Ela tiene solo 18 años, pero ha estado luchando con una grave batalla médica desde que tenía apenas un año. A Ela le diagnosticaron una combinación rara y compleja de condiciones: páncreas anular, un quiste colédoco y pancreatitis crónica. A lo largo de los años, estas enfermedades le han causado un dolor inmenso y sufrimiento, y lamentablemente, su condición ahora ha llegado a un punto crítico.

Lamentablemente, esta cirugía no solo es extremadamente cara, sino que también requiere que Ela viaje desde Florida a Minnesota para recibir atención especializada.
