Hi, I’m Lauren, and I’m asking for help for our little puppy, Queso, who is less than six months old and has badly broken his leg.

Queso is a tiny Chiweenie with an enormous personality. He absolutely loves people and other dogs and is confident, social, playful and hilarious. He’s endlessly curious about the world around him — he loves chasing ants and anything tiny that moves, and if a leaf or something else blows past him in the wind, he has to investigate it! When he finally stops exploring, he even loves watching TV, especially dog shows.

Unfortunately, Queso was recently involved in a completely accidental collision with a much larger dog on a slippery floor. Nobody was at fault; it was simply a horrible accident that happened in a split second.

But that split second has potentially changed Queso’s life.

His leg is badly broken and he needs an operation to repair it properly. Because Queso is still such a young, growing puppy, we’re incredibly worried about what could happen if we can’t get him the treatment he needs. His leg could heal incorrectly, potentially leaving him with deformity, mobility problems and pain for the rest of his life.

The heartbreaking part is that the treatment is available, but we need to find the money to pay for his veterinary care.

Our family has been struggling financially for some time since my husband was made redundant, and this unexpected emergency has caught us at the worst possible time. We simply don’t have thousands of pounds available to pay a large veterinary bill upfront.

It’s incredibly difficult to ask other people for financial help, but the alternative is watching our little puppy face potentially lifelong consequences because we couldn’t afford to get his leg fixed.

So I’m asking for your help.

Every donation, no matter how small, will go towards Queso’s veterinary treatment, surgery and recovery. £5, £10, £20 — it all gets us closer to getting him the operation he needs.

I just want to give my funny, fearless, adventurous little boy the chance to get back on all four paws again.
