Help us cover back rent and avoid court action!
Who We Are
We are three queer working class organizers involved in autonomous, anarchist and leftist organizing here where we live: Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. We live in a rent-stabilized apartment that has been a sanctuary for many years, providing us with much-needed stability and a strong sense of community around us.
We have been actively engaged in our building’s tenant association and previously organized a rent strike against our landlord to advocate for better living conditions for ourselves and our neighbors. Our apartment is truly a home that we have no intention of leaving anytime soon!
While we prefer to remain anonymous, those who know us understand that asking for help in this way is not easy.
Why We’re Raising Funds
Recently, we offered a room to a friend facing housing insecurity. Due to a downturn in seasonal work, they struggled to contribute to the rent. Although they have since moved out, and we’ve been working to cover the outstanding balance ourselves, the landlord is now threatening court action if the remaining amount isn’t paid promptly.
We are unable to cover the full back rent on our own and are seeking assistance to raise the necessary funds to prevent court proceedings.
If you’re in a position to help, we deeply appreciate your support—everything helps! Please feel free to reach out via direct message if you have any questions or need more information.
