Queens students art supplies stolen from Ontario Hall
Donation protected
Hi folks!
Disappointingly We had a handful of Visual Art students who were robbed from their personal studio space in Ontario Hall between Wednesday January 29th after 8pm at night to Thursday January 30th morning. There was thousands of dollars worth of supplies that were stolen from various students. These students are exceptional in their craft and they need their tools for their trade in order to accomplish their degrees!
With only 3 months left in their program these students are left feeling violated, unsupported, and aghast that this has happend to them.
The financial implications of this theft is two fold as well. The artists who were stolen from will need to replace the items that were stolen immediately as they have pieces they are working on right now.
Many of these students who experienced this loss are receiving OSAP, working to make ends meet, buying their own supplies, and are also students with disabilities.
We are looking for financial support to assist the students replace the stolen items.
The Kingston police are aware of the thefts, and we have generated a police report as well.
These cowardly theifs even took painting overalls, pink moccasin shoes, multiple expensive paints, several brushes, oil sticks, etching Kits, just to name a few.
I am a proud parent of one of these exceptionally gifted students. Will you help to us? The students are still in the mist of discovering that other things are missing.
The financial replacement will not cover the feeling of extreme loss that these sentimental tools have.
It is my HOPE that our students will feel your support, and that there are more good people in the world and at Queens than bad.
If Someone knows something, please do the right thing and speak up.
Art is everywhere, and we need to support our budding artists.
