Help Quark get better
Donation protected
(Updates below) Our dog Quark seems to have swallowed something that's had him vomiting for two days now. His vet had him go to the ER yesterday, and we tried an anti-nausea injection that isn't getting the job done. He hasn't been able to keep food down since Monday, and he hasn't had a bowel movement since then either. So now we're looking at X-rays (a few hundred dollars), blood-work (another hundred to two hundred), and we think a surgery (don't have a quote on this yet since we're not sure what the procedure is going to be, but we assume it won't be cheap.) The emergency vet ER in Tualatin where we've been having him treated, doesn't do payment plans, and I couldn't qualify for a "Care Card". Later today, I'll have a better picture of our total costs, but if you can help at all financially, it would mean the world to Yoca and me.
**UPDATE** The doctor said it's Pancreatitis (pancreas problem/swelling). The vet wants to keep him overnight/for 24 hours on IV fluids and re-analyze at that time. He said that he's optimistic that a couple days of IV fluids should get him back home to us healthy and on a from now on low-fat diet. Thanks again to everyone who's donated so far. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Please share link to this campaign as much and as freely as you can/feel comfortable doing. My whole family is eternally grateful for the love and support!
**UPDATE #2** After being on IV's overnight, Quark is still not able to drink water and keep it down, much less food, so they're doing an ultrasound and some other tests and that's set us back almost another $1,000. They're making sure there's no blockages in his stomach or bowel that the X-rays missed or if they just need to double-down on the meds. We know he's in good hands and the outpouring of love and support so far has been amazing. Please continue to help as you're able, even if you just share the link. Thank you!
