Hi there everyone!
My name is Cyn Gómez, I'm a first-generation student that attends UC Berkeley. I study Social Welfare with minors in Race and the Law & Spanish, I have a passion for making change and sought an opportunity that I simply couldn't pass up—the chance to work in DC to make a difference. The UC system has a program, UCDC, that I have gotten the opportunity to be a part of where I get to advocate for change for students, my goal is to fight for youth of color, first-generation students, unhoused students, students without access to mental health resources, and so much more. This being said, I've fought for scholarships that barely cover my tuition some of my housing. I am currently looking for jobs in DC to balance at the same time as my courses and two internships, this being said I need support to have enough to eat and get around DC. I'm coming to my community for support, if you have the means, I'm asking for your support. I want to make a difference and want to be able to do the best work I can while I'm in DC—I'm not sure how much I will be able to get done if I'm worried about how I will eat or buy the formal attire necessary for the work I'll be doing. If you don't have the means to support, please share with those around you, thank you for reading a bit about me
