Hi everyone, please take a second to meet and donate to our friend Qasem in Gaza, Palestine. We need your donations. Everything donated to Qasem has been completely spent due to the high costs of food and basic necessities due to the blockage of food and medicine during the genocide. Weekly costs of living (food for a family of 8, gas so that Qasem does not have to risk going out to dangerous open area to search for woods, medicine) had even reached $800-$1000. In Qasem's words:
"My family consists of 8 people, 3 girls, 3 boys, my father and my mother. Our life before the genocide was somewhat beautiful, but we were always with my father in the hospital because my father was sick before the war. My dream was to get a nurse degree and I reached another stage in my life with knowledge and I will make my entire family happy with my success. My goal was to be a nurse. Now, our dream is that I bring food, flour, and most importantly, treatment for my father."
Every 10 days, Qasem's family of 8 faces the following cost of surviving and basic needs:
- Basic shelter: $300
- Food, including flour and vegetables: $450
- Medicine for his dad: $250
...and about every half a month, they need gas ($300) to continue cooking food. Without gas, Qasem must go find wood sticks in areas where he is at increased risk of being bombed and shot by the occupation force.
Imagine a 17 year old having to ask money for food, shelter, and medicine so his family can survive. The ongoing blockade of aid by the occupation force since early March 2nd (MARCH 2nd 2025!) means prices have going up beyond what is affordable.
Qasem and his family needs us to stand with them more than ever.
