Help Qader purchase a car so he can find work

Hello all, I am Jason and I am starting this gofundme to assist Qader (Q) to purchase a vehicle so he can find work and start his journey to the American dream. I first met Qader in Panjshir Afghanistan in 2008. He proved himself to be a trustworthy and dependable interpreter for our provincial reconstruction team. He kept us informed and safe when interacting with Afghans and contractors who were part of our mission.

When we saw the fall of Afghanistan happening, we reached out to Qader to see if he was safe. He and his family were not. With the help of the Mercado family and their band of angels, Qader and his family made it safely to America. Q and his family were safe but spent a great deal of time at Fort Pickett, VA preparing for resettlement through an agency such as the International Rescue Committee or Catholic charities.

He was more fortunate than others on Fort Pickett as his brother and his family were also at there. As there were so many families going through resettlement, the agencies were quickly overwhelmed and unable to get Q's family off of Fort Pickett. His brother's family were fortunate to have been resettled in Richmond, but the DHS was telling him they would have to send him to Colorado for resettlement. In Colorado there would be no support or family to assist with the transition so the decision to leave under the Independent Departure process was one that had to be made.

This meant it was on my girlfriend Jonda and I to work to get them resettled. Jonda has provided a safe place for his family to stay and I have been getting Q and his family assistance through the Chesterfield County Social Services. He has received his work permit and we are working to get his drivers license so he can drive.

So many people have asked how they can help and up to now, Jonda and I have been able to provide the required assistance. Now with the price of used cars going through the roof, I ask that those that have offered and able to donate money to assist with the expense of purchasing a vehicle and insurance to facilitate him becoming self-sustaining.
