Help a U.S. Air Force Veteran Continue His Education
Hey everyone — first off, thank you for taking a moment to click on my story. My name’s Q, and it’s great to meet you. I’m a proud Midwesterner from Illinois and a U.S. Air Force Veteran trying to take the next step in my life — continuing my education and building a better future.
My journey hasn’t been easy, but I’ve always tried to stay positive and keep pushing forward. I served in the Air Force but was discharged early under General (Under Honorable Conditions). Unfortunately, that meant I didn’t qualify for my Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits at the time.
After working hard to meet certain requirements, my discharge was later upgraded to Honorable Conditions — something I’m incredibly grateful for. That upgrade opened the door for me to go back to school and move forward with my goals.
But right now, I’ve hit a frustrating roadblock. Because of the recent government shutdown, I can’t reach my VA VR&E counselor — no one’s answering phones or emails — which means I can’t access the benefits I’ve been approved for. Everything’s at a standstill.
So, I’m turning to the kindness of others for a little help to stay on track. Your support — whether it’s a donation or just sharing this page — would mean the world to me. Every bit helps cover school costs, living expenses, and the basics while I wait for the system to get back on its feet.
I’m deeply thankful for any support you can offer, and for even taking the time to read my story. Your generosity reminds me that community and compassion still make a real difference.
With gratitude, – Q
