Help Put Jose Manuel Ortiz Bernal to Rest

 

November 16, 1978 - November 9, 2021

 

Jose "Meño" Manuel Ortiz Bernal was a very loving father, brother, uncle, son, husband, and would've been a loving grandfather as well if he had the chance to. My father Jose was a very hard worker he taught me how to work and demonstrated how hard it is and how nothing in life is ever easy. He gave me so much advice for everything and always supported me no matter what. He was taken to the hospital on October 16th, 2021 when we saw him on the couch almost suffocating on his throw-up. We called 911 and the first responders came and checked his vitals and he seemed okay and once they left it happened again so my mom, uncles, and aunts rushed him to Natividad Hospital and the doctors had told us he needed brain surgery because he had a blood clot in his brain. His surgery was a success and he was recovering well and then 2 1/2 weeks later he got a cerebral embolism and the pressure in his head went up. They later called my mom to tell her that he had fallen into a coma and he was brain dead. The doctors told us they did everything they could because his brain was already dead and we were trying out hardest to wait for my father to go on his own. The only thing that had his heart alive was the life support he was on. All of us as a family decided on November 8th to finally let his body and soul rest and take him off of the machine and have him go on his own. He told my mom & uncle multiple times his ultimate wish was for them to take care of his children and my mom wondered why he would tell her that and he would say that his whole life he wouldn't want to be here in the United States he wanted to go to his hometown Guadalupe de Atlas, Asientos, Aguascalientes. He would say whenever his time was up and God wanted to take him up to heaven with him. To take his corpse to Mexico and take him on horses and to have a big tamborazo for him and with all that he'd be happy and finally put to rest the way he would want it to happen. We are raising money for him to be put to rest where he wanted to be that way his other siblings, aunts, uncles, mother, and father could see him. The money we are raising is going to go into funeral expenses, sending his body to Mexico, and us traveling to go see him until we reunite again Dad❤.

 

José "Meño" Manuel Ortiz Bernal era un padre, hermano, tío, hijo, esposo muy cariñoso, y también habría sido un abuelo cariñoso si hubiera tenido la oportunidad. Mi padre José era un gran trabajador, me enseñó a trabajar y me demostró lo difícil que es y cómo nada en la vida es fácil. Me dio muchos consejos para todo y siempre me apoyó sin importar qué. Lo llevaron al hospital el 16 de octubre de 2021 cuando lo vimos en el sofá casi asfixiado por su propio vómito. Llamamos al 911 y los socorristas vinieron y revisaron sus signos vitales y parecía estar bien y una vez que se fueron, sucedió de nuevo, así que mi mamá, mis tíos y mis tías lo llevaron de urgencia al Hospital Natividad y los médicos nos dijeron que necesitaba una cirugía cerebral porque tenía una coágulo de sangre en su cerebro. Su cirugía fue un éxito y se estaba recuperando bien y luego, 2 1/2 semanas después, tuvo una embolia cerebral y la presión en su cabeza aumentó. Más tarde llamaron a mi mamá para decirle que había caído en coma y tenía muerte cerebral. Los médicos nos dijeron que hicieron todo lo posible porque su cerebro ya estaba muerto y estábamos haciendo todo lo posible para esperar a que mi padre se fuera por su cuenta. Lo único que tenía su corazón vivo era el soporte vital que tenía. Todos nosotros como familia decidimos el 8 de noviembre finalmente dejar descansar su cuerpo y alma y sacarlo de la máquina y dejarlo ir solo. Él les dijo a mi mamá y a mi tío varias veces que su mayor deseo era que ellos cuidaran de sus hijos y mi mamá le preguntaba por qué le diría eso y él decia que toda su vida no quería estar aquí en los Estados Unidos. Quería ir a su ciudad natal Guadalupe de Atlas, Asientos, Aguascalientes. Él decía cada vez que se acababa su tiempo y Dios quería llevarlo al cielo con él. Llevar su cadáver a México y llevarlo a caballo y tener un gran tamborazo para él y con todo eso estaría feliz y finalmente el pondría descansar como le gustaría que sucediera. Estamos recaudando dinero para que lo dejen descansar donde quería estar de esa manera sus otros hermanos, tías, tíos, madre y padre podrían verlo. El dinero que estamos recaudando lo vamos a destinar a los gastos del funeral, a enviar su cuerpo a México, y nosotros viajamos para ir a verlo hasta que nos volvamos a reunir, papá❤.
