In memory of a great Man, Son, Brother, Uncle, Friend, Grandfather and Dad.
Eddie "ET" Torres was born April 13th, 1953. The oldest of 6 brothers and sisters.
Eddie was known for being an amazing father, artist, and friend.
"ET" specialized in pinstriping which is an artform commonly used in the Kustom Kulture lifestyle that spawned in the early 1950’s. ET started perfecting his craft in the late 1970's using custom handmade brushes and modeling paints.
ET was a huge part of the custom Lowrider and Chicano culture since the late 1980's with
having pinstriped over 5,000 cars, boats, planes, canvas or pretty much anything he could take paint to.
The man himself was best known for his scrollwork and a pinstripe bird he invented, also known as "The Phoenix '' which till this day continues to live in the memories of thousands of people from all around.
These are just some of the things my father did for the world and his community, but to me he was my dad. He was a man with so much patience, so much drive, it was truly amazing. He always encouraged me to be the best I can, even on the days I could not.
He raised me to see the world differently and respect all forms of art. To enjoy the colors around you and to see the shapes of everything. My dad spent decades making this world a little bit more beautiful just by using a brush, some paint, and a dixie cup.
My dad taught and showed me that you can make a difference just by doing something you love. He always took the time to teach others everything he had learned and was so encouraging to so many people, helping them bring their visions to life.
I created this Go Fund me to help with funeral expenses and any extra money will help go towards making a book of my fathers artwork so it can be shared with many far and wide.
Even though my Dad may not be here, his spirit lives with me and the ones he loved. I still see everything through his eyes and will continue to help bring light to his legacy.
Thank you for being my dad, your son.
