So, I have to update this a little. I am putting Reggie to sleep tomorrow, 4/23, and it will cost me $1035. I'm still behind on my mortgage and my RG&E is once again in jeopardy of being shut off.
I am again begging for kindness and generosity.
Hi, this is really hard for me, but I need help. I don't like asking for help, but I have no other options. My RG&E (gas and electric) is going to be shut off and my mortgage is overdue.
Most of you know that I haven't worked since September 2021. I have been receiving long-term disability payments from my previous employer since June 2022 and Social Security Disability payments since June 2023.
I have had chronic pain since a near-fatal car accident on April 11, 2006, that shattered my right kneecap, shattered and displaced my right femur, fractured the head of my right femur, fractured my left acetabulum (the socket portion of the hip), and the left transverse process of my L2 vertebrae. I have had 7 surgeries, including 2 hip replacements on my right hip, and require a right knee replacement due to grade 3/4-4/4 osteoarthritis, which we are managing with Euflexxa injections every 6 months. I have degenerative disc disease, advanced facet arthropathy (grade 4/4 spinal arthritis), severe foraminal narrowing (grade 3/3, neural passageway in the spine shrinks causing spinal nerve compression), 1 herniated disc, and 2 bulging discs. All of that is from L3-L4 through S1. I also need to have my left ankle reconstructed due to bone deformities in the ankle that have been caused by a flat foot. In September 2024, I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis for which I need infusions every 8 weeks.
All of that to say that I require multiple medications, orthopedic braces, special orthotics for my shoes, and regular physical therapy.
In the past three months, I have had $690 in prescriptions, $460 for my infusion, $12 for a wrist brace, and $200 in physical therapy...after insurance.
Insurance does not cover the $270 orthotics I need for the new sneakers I bought.
I just had $1800 in car repairs done in the month of March.
I don't qualify for SNAP because my income is "in excess of the cutoff," but I can't afford food.
My dryer has been broken for 2 years, so I hang clothes downstairs to dry, and my washing machine doesn't work properly any longer either, so I have to set a timer and advance it to the next cycle manually.
If you could help me, even the slightest bit, I would be eternally grateful.
Thank you. ❤️
