DIY Masks and PPE for our Medical Community Dexter

Donation protected
Dexter Michigan is answering the call for DIY PPE- Due to the national shortage of facemasks, some medical facilities are welcoming fabric masks made by members of our community.

We are well organized, efficient, and effective. Our volunteers are organized by location which has allowed us to match pattern cutters, sewists, drivers, and neighborhood point of contacts with one another so that we can grow and meet demand. We have transformed from strangers to a well-oiled mask producing machine in less than 10 days.

We need your donations to purchase fabric, thread, elastic, bias tape, and other supplies critical to the continued success of this much-needed local effort.  Weekly fabric costs average $300 dollars.

Our group is working with Nancy Moroz of the Ann Arbor Sewing Center to ensure masks are disbursed to the medical facilities that need them the most. Nancy is working directly with Saint Joseph, Henry Ford, Corner Health organization, and other medical facilities to ensure all masks are routed in a prioritized, equitable, and organized manner.

As of March 29, 2020 our group has the following orders pending: Corner health organization-100 Monroe cancer center-50 Saint Joseph-50 Beaumont hospital-50 Find us on FB
