Puki is my 8-year-old cat, and he means more to me than I can really put into words.

I got him when he was still a kitten, during one of the hardest periods of my life. At the time I was struggling badly with anxiety and panic attacks, and having him there with me helped me through moments that felt impossible. Since then, he has always been part of my family and one of the biggest sources of comfort in my life.

Recently everything changed when Puki suffered a serious episode of congestive heart failure caused by hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, also known as HCM. His breathing suddenly became very bad, he lost his balance, and we had to rush him to the emergency vet. It was one of the scariest moments I have ever experienced.

Thankfully, we got him there in time and he responded to treatment.

Since then, Puki has needed constant follow-up care with a cardiologist, echocardiograms, X-rays, blood tests, and several medications every day to control his heart condition and prevent fluid from building up again.

Even with everything he has been through, Puki is still himself. He still eats, looks for our company, plays (Although I have limited Playtime since that's what the vet recommended), sleeps in his favourite places, and enjoys being around us.

Unfortunately, we have already had to return to the vet and emergency clinic several times. More recently, they found a small amount of fluid around one of his lungs and had to give him injectable furosemide and emergency treatment again.

The costs are adding up extremely quickly between emergency vet visits, cardiology appointments, scans, blood tests, medication, and ongoing monitoring. I will continue doing everything I can for Puki no matter what, but the financial side of keeping up with his treatment is becoming very difficult.

I am not asking for anything beyond the ability to keep giving him the care he needs and the best quality of life possible for as long as we have together.

Any donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward Puki’s veterinary bills, medication, specialist care, and future treatment.

If you are not able to donate, even sharing this fundraiser would mean a huge amount to us.

Every donation will be used exclusively for Puki. The money will go toward his veterinary bills, emergency visits, cardiology appointments, scans, blood tests, medication, and any other treatment he may need to keep him comfortable and give him the best possible quality of life. None of the funds will be used for anything unrelated to Puki or his care.

Puki was there for me when I needed him most. Now I just want to be there for him.
