Hi, I’m writing to ask for support in publishing my novel, Sea Glass Alchemy. This book has been living with me for a long time. It’s a story about a woman named Nellie who rebuilds her life in a small coastal town after leaving a past she never fully explains—only the ways it still shows up in her body and her instincts. As she opens a small apothecary by the sea, she slowly becomes part of a community that protects its own in ordinary, imperfect ways: shared meals, humor, persistence, and showing up.
At its heart, Sea Glass Alchemy is about healing that isn’t loud or linear, love that doesn’t require suffering to feel earned, community as a form of safety, and learning that joy is allowed—even when nothing bad has happened first. This is an adult contemporary novel with a strong emotional core and a slow-burn romance. It’s written for readers who love character-driven stories, small-town settings, and relationships built on trust rather than urgency or control.
I’m seeking help to cover the costs of professional editing, manuscript formatting, and initial publishing expenses. These steps matter deeply to me because I want this book to enter the world with care. I don’t want to rush it or compromise its integrity by cutting corners. If you’re able to donate, thank you. If you’re not, sharing the campaign means just as much. This book is, in many ways, about community—and asking for help is part of living that truth. Thank you for reading, for supporting independent art, and for helping Sea Glass Alchemy find its way into readers’ hands.
With gratitude,
Katie
This book is for anyone who has survived something quietly—and is learning that peace doesn’t have to be earned through pain.
