Hello Everyone!
After my play "Orion", was produced in early 2017 in NYC, many people expressed their desire to read it or to somehow get a copy. After having sent it to various publishing houses over the last 2 years, I have decided to self-publish. I already have experience with this from publishing my collection of work entitled "A Collection of One-Acts and Other Things You May or May Not Enjoy " (not so subtle plug), so the process should be (relatively) painless. All money raised here will go to the various steps of creating the best possible manuscript of this play, inside and out. The company I will be using to create the book is owned by Amazon so the script will be available through Amazon Prime once the process is finished and each copy is custom made with every order (yay no waste!) What the funds will be used for:
-Copy Editing of Manuscript
-Custom Interior Layout & Design
-Marketing Copy Service
-Kindle Conversion
-Cover Design
-Author Photo
-And all the other little details needed to physically create this book and make it look as beautiful as possible.
What STRETCH GOAL funds will be used for:
-Additional marketing packages
-Buying copies of the book to send to theaters, schools, producers, and agents
-Postage to send copies out to all the above and all who donated (this gets REAL pricy) -Any and all little expenses that pop up (and there will be many)
*Note: All money made WILL be going towards the creation and marketing for this play. None of it will go into my pocket.
This can be a long process with many edits of the manuscript being sent back and forth between the publisher and me, but luckily I already have the manuscript ready to be sent to begin the conversion into the play layout. The next big step is getting the company paid to start the process. With that being said, though Gofundme does not have a time limit, I will be closing this campaign sometime in early June. That way I can get Orion officially published by the middle/end of summer to send it out to theaters for consideration for their 2019/2020 season.
Getting this play produced was such an amazing thing to experience. So many wonderful people pulling together to make my vision a reality. I believe that every single person who put their effort into this piece helped make it that much stronger and I know I couldn't have done it without them. I would love to show the world the final product of what we all came together to create back in February of 2017 as well as give the cast and crew the proper credit within the manuscript for all the wonderful work they did.
Any and all donations would be very much appreciated as well as your sharing of this page and even reaching out about people and places to send this manuscript once complete. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart and I look forward to getting this play in your hands.

***UPDATE*** With everyone being as gracious and thoughtful as they have been, I have decided that everyone who donates will be sent a signed copy of the play as well as their name in the book as a thank you. If more money keeps flowing in, I will gladly think of more perks to pamper you all with and am accepting any and all ideas. Thank you to all who have already donated, helped spread the word, and those who have reached out about other means in which to help when unable to financially. I look forward to giving this play to the masses and I thank you all so much! Let's keep this thing going!!!
