Help Prudhvi Survive the Fight of His Life — Just Weeks From His Dream

He completed every class, every exam, and every assignment. His Master's graduation walk was scheduled for May 8th. He never made it.

Just two weeks before he was supposed to walk across that stage, 25-year-old Prudhvi’s body went into crisis. What began as severe ulcerative colitis escalated into a life-threatening emergency almost overnight. After suffering massive internal and external bleeding, Prudhvi was airlifted to Henry Ford Hospital in critical condition. He spent his 25th birthday fighting for his life in the ICU, eventually undergoing emergency surgery to remove his colon.

The Dream He Was Fighting For Prudhvi came to the United States from India (Nalgonda, TG) to earn his Master’s degree in Information Systems at Central Michigan University, carrying his family’s future with him. His father is a farmer, and his mother is a schoolteacher. They sacrificed everything to give their son this chance, and Prudhvi carried that weight with pride, working toward a future that would lift up his entire family. He earned his degree. Now, he just needs the chance to survive and live the life they all worked so hard for.

The Urgent Crisis Today Prudhvi is conscious and finally out of the woods, but the hardest part of his journey is just beginning. He is facing a daunting 4-to-5-month recovery period, and terrifyingly, his student health insurance is ending soon.

Because of his severe condition, he has absolutely no ability to work to support himself or pay his mounting medical bills. His parents are desperately trying to travel from India to be by his side and care for him, adding the sudden, urgent need to secure local housing and living expenses for them during this extended rehabilitation.

A Community Stepping Up Since day one, his roommate Sumanth has been by his side—coordinating his care, staying in contact with his family across the ocean, and making sure Prudhvi is never alone. To ensure full transparency and trust, this fundraiser is organized by Sumanth alongside close friends, with the official endorsements from numerous Michigan-based community organizations, including the SEWA Detroit Chapter, Michigan Indian Community Services (MICS), Detroit Telangana Community (DTC), Detroit Telugu Association (DTA), VT Seva and other community leaders.

Why We Need to Raise $75,000: Navigating the transition from student coverage to a new health policy means being hit with a brand-new deductible and out-of-pocket maximum right in the middle of a medical crisis. To ensure Prudhvi's care is never interrupted, we have set a goal of $75,000. Every dollar raised goes directly toward:

$15,000 – $20,000: Bridging the Insurance Gap & Medical Debt. Covering the out-of-pocket maximums from his emergency airlift, ICU stay, and surgeries as his student health insurance expires, and funding the premiums and deductibles for a new policy to continue his care.

$25,000 – $35,000: Future Surgeries & Rehabilitation. Funding crucial follow-up operations, 4 to 5 months of intensive physical therapy, urology treatments, and specialized daily wound care supplies.

$15,000 – $18,000: Family Reunification & Basic Survival. Covering emergency flights to bring his parents from India to Michigan, plus 5 months of rent, groceries, utilities, and transportation to Henry Ford Hospital for three adults while Prudhvi is completely unable to work.

Please donate, share this page, or keep Prudhvi in your prayers. Every single contribution brings him one step closer to walking out of that hospital and back to the people who love him.
