Help Provide Skylar the Tools for Success
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Amanda and my daughter Skylar is a senior at Center Grove High School. She is also currently attending a vocational school for Visual Communications. She has been an artist her entire life. She has also been in every art show that her schools have put on. As an elementary student, she received a scholarship and acceptance into a middle school art camp at Herron School of Art at IUPUI. Last year she won a golden key award for her self portrait, given out by The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards that automatically qualified her for Nationals. She won a first place blue ribbon for a drawing of an original character of hers for The Greater Greenwood Arts Council: Art for The Ages Art Show. She has been creating original characters for years which she features on her artist Instagram page. As aJunior she began the Vis Com program at C9 so that she could begin honing in skills that her high school does not offer.
In her current program, she has been able to work with state of the art equipment while utilizing Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator, completing real-world projects for clients in the community. She’s been able to learn page layout, digital photography, digital audio-video, digital press, vinyl & sign graphics, screen printing, and wide-format printing. At the end of the school year she will have certifications as an Adobe Certified Associate and Print-Ed certification in Intro to Graphic Communications and Advertising Design. Last year, she won 1st place for the screen printing t-shirt design contest in her vis com program. Every day she proudly wears a jacket with one of her original characters screen printed on the back of it.
We, as family, friends, and community have the opportunity to set her up at graduation with all the equipment she would need to have, to start her own screen printing business. Skylar chose to attend C9 because she knew college was not for her at this time and she will be going right into the workforce.
This money would go directly to providing her the following screen printing equipment, which become available at an amazing price but that we cannot afford for her. This equipment is available RIGHT NOW and may not stay around for long. The money donated would be used to purchase this equipment listed below:
4 color 4 station manual press
4 color table top press
Black body Conveyor dryer
Flash cure unit
2 heat presses
Inks
Exposer unit
Aluminum screens
Scoop coater
Squeegees
Chemicals
100 blank tees
Anything raised above and beyond the cost of the equipment listed above would be used to allow her to curate the space for these things (storage containers, packing supplies, stools, fans, laptop with needed software, printer, etc).
Please consider helping us give her a strong start as a professional artist by giving her an amazing opportunity to have the tools she needs from the start.
Sincerely - Very Proud and Grateful Parents,
Nathan & Amanda Wrege
