The first of May a local resident of Isla Mujeres - Cinthia Trejo - was hit on her scooter by a golf cart who pulled out in front of her. This caused tremendous damage to her scooter and also physical injuries, which was treated at the island hospital. She has been unable to work for a few weeks during healing. She only received $50 USD to pay for damages to the scooter. Damages are so bad that she really needs a new scooter - which Honda has them today for 36,990 pesos ($2,000 USD).

Cinthia and her family have done so much over the years to help the children on the island. Now is our chance to do something to help them. We would like to ask friends of Isla Mujeres to please donate so that we can get her a scooter to ride, as she needs this for her work. Thank you so much!!!
