Help Provide Safe Housing for My Sisters Family

My name is Nagiyd Ewell, I am creating this fundraiser for my sister Qadirah Ewell, her partner Khalif Wilson and their three boys (a 4 year old, a 3 year old, and a 10 month old ). Recently they have come under very hard times and are in need of some help and support. She and her family moved down to North Carolina in 2020 in search of a more affordable living situation. After moving in to their home the family discovered many issues with the house that makes it dangerous to live in, one of the most pressing issues being extremely high lead content in the ground, foundation, walls and air. A few months ago during a bad storm the kitchen ceiling caved in and fell into the house creating more problems with living there. She and her family have reached out for assistance in fixing these issues but have received little to no support. Recently the children have gotten very sick and had to be taken to the hospital and the doctors informed the family that they have developed severe respiratory issues from their living conditions and have been told they need to vacate the premises immediately. At this time they do not have enough money to move into a new place or rent a hotel room for extended time and are just struggling to get by. They are considering moving back to New Jersey to find temporary housing with family and to have more support in general but their car has also just broken down and they are currently immobile and using Uber to get to work and drop off their eldest son to daycare. The repairs for the car are going to cost around $4500 and that was one of our primary focuses as a family until we received the diagnosis of the children. We are all coming together to raise what we can as quickly as possible to support them, but there are just so many things happening all at once that need immediate attention and any help that they receive will be tremendously appreciated. If you know my sister you know that she has a very big heart and does everything she can to help those around her especially her family, all while remaining silent about the help that she needs herself. She never wants to feel like a burden or have another person struggle for her and so it is hard for her to ask for assistance. But it would mean the world to me to be able to help her family. If you’ve read this far I appreciate you so much and hope that at the very least you share her situation and/or send prayer and good vibrations and thoughts to the family.
