Childhood trauma affects many adoptive families in lots of different ways. Our family has been working to process past trauma and provide love and safety to all family members for a few years. Recently, we have really been struggling with safety in our home and have been seeking more support in healing for everyone. We feel very fortunate to have come across an opportunity for our son to have a more intensive, immersive healing experience. The treatment we are hoping to provide will allow space for him to process the traumatic events of his past while maintaining safety for everyone in our family. While expensive, we have high hopes that this treatment will provide a path to lifelong healing and wellness for our son and our whole family. There is not a specific timeline laid out for us, but we are planning for this treatment to take between 9 and 12 months. Our out-of-pocket expenses will be $3,900 per month. We are so grateful for all the support from our community as we forge ahead with whatever we can do to help our son heal from the trauma that he never deserved.
