Help Provide Menstrual Hygiene Products for Girls in Ghana
Donation protected
Hi, I am Amanda Ababio Adjei, a graduate of Queen's University Belfast with a Master's degree in Conflict Transformation and Social Justice and a Global Youth Ambassador at Theirworld. I have a passion for youth development and the promotion of social justice. I am raising funds to support girls at the Begoro Presbyterian Senior High School in the Eastern Region of Ghana this Menstrual Hygiene Day.
Imagine missing school simply because you don’t have access to sanitary products. This is the harsh reality for millions of girls in Ghana. Lack of menstrual hygiene products and education leads to missed opportunities, stigma, and health risks.
Our goal is to:
1. Provide disposable sanitary pads to about 1000 young girls in the school
2. Provide menstrual health education to deal with misconceptions and empower young girls
Why This Matters:
1. Research has shown that non-availability of sanitary pads is a leading factor of menstrual-related absenteeism in Ghanaian schools
2. Many young girls resort to unsafe alternatives like cloth, and tissue paper due to the high cost of sanitary pads in Ghana
3. The stigma surrounding periods prevents open conversations and support.
How Your Donation Helps:
£10 = 10 full packs of sanitary pad
£20 = 20 full packs of sanitary pad
£4 = 4 full packs of sanitary pads (This covers the cost of sanitary for a student for one academic semester)
I am partnering with the authorities of Begoro Presbyterian Senior High School to ensure every penny goes directly to those in need.
Let’s break the silence and give girls the dignity they deserve. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference. Please, share and support this cause.
Donate today and be part of the change!
