Help Provide Free Healthcare in Mission, TX
Donation protected
In March, along with around 20 other medical students, aspiring healthcare professionals, and physicians in affiliation with the Christian Medical & Dental Association (CMDA), I will be traveling to Mission, TX at the Texas-Mexico border to provide free medical services for the people of far south Texas.
Our goal is to partner with the church and physicians there, caring for both the physical and spiritual needs of the people by applying our medical skills.
Right now, 30% of South Texans lack health insurance. This means that potentially 30% or more of South Texans have not been given adequate medical attention nor told that their soul is inhabiting a rare vessel, the only one they will ever get to take care of.
My fundraising goal for this trip is $500. I would be thrilled to partner with you and be sent on your behalf to do the good work that is put in front of us.
Abbreviated itinerary:
We will arrive in Mission, TX on Sunday, March 9th, and hold clinic for the next 5 days, driving back to Fort Worth on Saturday, March 14th before classes start the next Monday.
Some cases seen last year:
Hypertension, preeclampsia, pterygium, thyroid nodules, knee effusion, severe back pain, general wellness ...
Total cost of the trip:
$500 which covers medical supplies, lodging, transportation, and breakfast/lunch each day we are in Mission, TX. Though $500 covers the baseline, any donations that exceed $500 are appreciated to cover costs of medical supplies, gasoline/fuel for our personal vehicles we are using to carpool to Mission, and dinner (which is not included in the trip cost). Any donations that exceed the $500 can be refunded at your discretion.
We are coming expectant to see Jesus work in the lives of those we see.
