My name is Allie Willis. My wife and 2 daughters moved to Black mountain on 8/1 and were welcomed with open arms into the community. On 9/27, the town of Black Mountain was destroyed by Hurricane Helene, leaving all without electricity, water and food. Many homes were destroyed by falling trees and floods, with power lines covering the roads. Many were evacuated to higher ground. Many were not. Due to no cell service, many are missing and it is unknown whether they are well. Emergency assistance cannot get into black mountain or Asheville, as roads and bridges have been destroyed. There are no open stores or gas stations. Everyone is running out of gas, using cars to Charge phones, so leaving isn’t an option for many, even if they could get out. I would like to raise money to assist the community with food, water and essentials that will be needed in the aftermath. I have no set plan at this time, but your money will go to those who are really struggling. Please consider helping.
