My name is Gigi Wong, founder of Lotus Lantern Initiative, a nonprofit supporting families facing war, displacement, and extreme hardship. I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Abdelrahim Saeed and his 4-year-old son, Areen, in Gaza.

My name is Abdelrahim Saeed, and I am a father from Gaza trying to protect my 4-year-old son, Areen.

Our lives have been completely changed by war. We have lost the stability we once knew—our home, our income, our sense of safety, and the ordinary routines that once made life feel normal. Today, our focus is simply surviving each day and keeping Areen safe.

Areen is only four years old. He is too young to understand why his world has changed so suddenly, but he feels everything that has been taken away. Instead of a childhood filled with play, learning, and security, he is growing up surrounded by displacement, fear, uncertainty, and deprivation.

As his father, one of the hardest things is knowing what my child needs and not always being able to provide it.

This fundraiser will help us cover essential needs including food, clean water, hygiene supplies, clothing, medical needs, transportation, and the basic costs of maintaining whatever stability and shelter we can find.

These funds are not for comfort or luxury. They are intended to help our family survive and give Areen the safest life possible under extremely difficult circumstances.
