Help Provide Essential Care for Uncle Len's Stroke Recovery

Story

Hi, My name is Devan Christodoulou. I am Leonard Hoffman’s nephew. Leonard has sacrificed his entire life for the service of others. Leonard is a devout pastor and spent years on the front lines of Europe, spreading the gospel, in service of the ministry of Jesus Christ. He was also a teacher for special needs children in the state of California. If anyone knows Len, they will be reminded of his generosity, love, and constant care of others. Uncle Len is someone who would drop everything he’s doing to run an errand for someone in need. He has dedicated his time, money and resources to loving and serving everyone. He has put God and others before his own needs, he’s been a blessing and touched countless people with his love. Leonard suffered a severe stroke in October of 2023; It happened a few days after our family Canadian thanksgiving dinner. This was a dinner that my Uncle Len organized, worked tirelessly to prepare. A few days later, he declared that he wasn’t feeling well, He fell and had his brother George Hoffman call 911. He was diagnosed with a double stroke, doctors had to perform life saving surgery on the brain. Uncle Len spent 4 months in the Royal Columbian Hospital. After a failed attempt to bring him home under the care of his two sisters, Lydia and Hope, He was sent back to the Burnaby General Hospital for further evaluation and care. By the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, Leonard is now at Maple Ridge Seniors Village, under residential care. We’re asking for help as the cost related to Uncle Len’s stroke recovery and ongoing care have become too much to bear. I believe Uncle Len’s ministry is not finished, the Lord kept him alive for a good reason. To this day, even in his current state, he is still preaching the gospel with truth and love. Leonard now requires assistance with daily living. Here’s some examples of His daily needs and costs associated: Wheelchair: Disability Wheelchair: $3000 Electric Wheelchair: $10,000 Disability Taxi Services: Monthly Costs: $400 Physiotherapy: Monthly Costs: $500 Massage Therapy: Monthly Costs: $500 Medication: Monthly Prescription Costs: $200 Occupational Therapy: Monthly Cost: $500 Speech Therapy: Monthly Cost: $150 Care Facility Expenses: Basic Monthly Care Home Costs: $4,000 For a man who so freely gives of himself to others, it's of no surprise how difficult it is to ask and receive help. But, our family is humbly and graciously seeking support on his behalf. Any contribution is welcomed and appreciated! Thank you.
