My family is facing a heartbreaking and overwhelming situation. My granddaughter, a loving and devoted stay-at-home mother, is in the middle of a painful custody battle involving her two precious daughters, ages 7 and 5. These little girls are the center of our world—bright, loving, innocent children who deserve stability, safety, and the comfort of the home they know.

My granddaughter has been a full-time mother since the day they were born. She has poured every part of herself into raising them with love, patience, and gentleness. Watching her fight to keep her daughters close has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever witnessed as a grandmother.

But the truth is, the legal system is expensive, and the attorney who is helping her requires a significant retainer to continue representing her. She simply doesn’t have the means as a stay-at-home mother, and I am retired on a fixed income. No matter how much we stretch, pray, and try to piece things together, we cannot reach this amount on our own.
