Hello everyone,

I’m reaching out to ask for your support in raising funds for The Trans Equity Coalition, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting transgender and nonbinary people. Founded in 2021, the Coalition provides life-saving resources and advocacy to ensure that New Jersey becomes an equitable, inclusive, and connected community for all.

Right now, federal proposals threaten to defund gender-affirming care — care that is evidence-based, medically recognized, and truly lifesaving. Many medical professionals are already hesitant to provide gender-affirming services due to fears of losing funding. These policy decisions have real and devastating consequences for transgender people, especially young individuals seeking affirmation, safety, and support.

While transgender lives cannot and will not be erased — because they are real, valid, and enduring — we must take action to protect the resources that sustain them.

The Trans Equity Coalition offers vital programs, including:

(1) S.T.A.R. (Supplemental Transgender Assistance and Relief): Immediate aid for trans and nonbinary people in urgent need, funded in collaboration with Transgender Rights, Understanding, & Education.

(2) Support groups for trans and nonbinary individuals, as well as for parents and families seeking community and understanding.

(3) Healthcare and hormone therapy resources, including guidance on where to access affirming care throughout New Jersey.

As many of you know, I’m currently pursuing my master’s degree in Professional Counseling at Monmouth University. For one of my courses, I was asked to develop an action plan to support a minoritized community. I chose the transgender community — because their rights, futures, and lives are under attack.

As part of this project, I’m raising funds for The Trans Equity Coalition to help expand their reach and services. My goal is to contribute meaningfully to their mission of building a safer, more inclusive world for trans and nonbinary individuals.
